# Cloud Data Streaming

Our solution consists of a series of devices connected to smart meters that forward energy measurements, device metadata, and connection status updates. The NET2GRID gateway architecture is based on a client-server TCP model, where the gateway device plays the client role while the NET2GRID platform acts as the server. The NET2GRID devices are connected to the AWS IoT after being authenticated using a distinct key set in each device's firmware.
